Come explore
the visitor center located on beautifully restored Crissy Field in the
Presidio of San Francisco. Experience the wonders of our National Marine
Sanctuaries found just outside the Golden
Gate Bridge. See the stunning 15 foot tall ocean
mural on the walls, get your hands wet in the touch tank, discover
the exciting adventures that await you in the Sanctuaries waters,
and learn how to get involved in protecting our local marine environment.
Its a great place to bring young people and spend a day at the beach.

Visitor Center volunteers help educate the public about
the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. In 2000, visitor
center volunteers donated 500 hours for an equivalent value of $8,500
and educated 20,000 visitors about the National Marine Sanctuary mission
and programs. For information on volunteer opportunities contact the Farallones
Marine Sanctuary Association.
